Juniper EX4300 vs EX4400: which campus switch fits your network?
The EX4300 and EX4400 are both 1U campus access switches with Virtual Chassis technology and 16 ports per LAG. The short version: the EX4400 is the newer generation — roughly double the switching capacity (912 Gbps vs 496 Gbps), an enhanced limited lifetime warranty, more multigigabit and fiber model options, and higher-wattage power supplies for dense PoE. The EX4300 remains a proven, widely deployed option and is often the better value on the secondary and quote market.

How to choose
- Choose the EX4400 when you need maximum headroom: 912 Gbps capacity, the 714 Mpps EX4400-48F fiber model, multigigabit options up to the 48MXP, 2000 W power supplies for heavy PoE loads, and the enhanced limited lifetime warranty.
- Choose the EX4300 when 24- or 48-port gigabit access with wire-speed throughput is enough and budget matters — it is one of the most widely deployed Juniper access switches ever made.
- Both support Virtual Chassis, so either line stacks for simplified management.
